Life of a Teacher was an experience that truly gave me sense of what it is like to be a teacher. One would think that it quite a simple task when simply sitting back and observing however, no one tells you about all the work that is done behind the scenes that aids one in bringing about an effective teaching and learning environment.

Having take over all the duties of my mentor teacher, I came to the realization that there is a whole lot of administration that goes into managing the classroom. This takes up a lot of time which makes it important for teachers to manage their time wisely in order to complete all necessary tasks.

Additionally, throughout this experience, I gained the true understanding and skill when it comes to managing the classroom, while too, having to conduct lessons. This, for me was one of the challenges that I struggled with most simply because I strive to give my students my best at all times however, on days when having to navigate everything on your own, it becomes quite daunting. I do however feel that having a passion for teaching, learning and the learners themselves helps the process a whole lot more and reminds us exactly why we started this profession in the first place.

The experience at large gave me a good feel as to how it will be in my own classroom one day and has definitely provided me with the necessary skills needed to manage my own classroom. These are skills and lessons that I have seen from my mentors and ones that I know will take me a long way in my so desired profession.
